Legal Notice & Safety Disclaimer
Welcome to Sol Vitrage. By purchasing from our store or using our website, you acknowledge and agree to the following legal and safety disclaimers.
1. Intellectual Property & Copyright All content on this website, including but not limited to original stained glass patterns, product designs, photography, logos, and text, is the exclusive intellectual property of Sol Vitrage. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, modification, or commercial use of our designs or imagery—including using our photos to sell counterfeit goods or recreating our glass patterns for commercial resale—is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.
2. Health & Safety Warning (Lead Solder) Our stained glass pieces are authentically handcrafted using the traditional copper foil method, which involves the use of solder containing lead (a standard material in traditional stained glass art).
-
Handling: Stained glass is intended for decorative purposes only. It is entirely safe to display in your home; however, you should always wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after directly handling, moving, or cleaning the pieces.
-
California Proposition 65 Warning: WARNING: Handling the coated electrical wires or solder on these products can expose you to lead, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information, go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
-
Child & Pet Safety: Our products are not toys. They contain lead and sharp edges if broken. Please keep all stained glass items strictly out of reach of children and pets. Do not allow children to touch or put any part of the glass or metal in their mouths.
3. Installation & Handling Liability Stained glass is inherently fragile and can be surprisingly heavy.
-
It is the customer's sole responsibility to ensure that the piece is securely hung or installed. We strongly recommend using heavy-duty hooks anchored securely into window frames, wood, or wall studs.
-
Avoid Suction Cups: We explicitly advise against using standard plastic suction cups to hang glass art on windows, as temperature fluctuations will cause them to fail, resulting in the piece falling and breaking.
-
Sol Vitrage shall not be held liable for any personal injury, property damage, or breakage caused by improper handling, dropping, inadequate hanging methods, or environmental factors (such as wind or window movement).
4. Food Safety Unless explicitly stated otherwise, our stained glass items (including bowls, trays, or decorative plates) are not food safe. They should never be used to serve, store, or consume food or beverages due to the materials used in the soldering and patina processes.
5. Handmade Material Variations As stated in our Terms of Service, all pieces are handcrafted. We utilize opalescent and streaky glass which features organic, non-uniform variations in color, texture, and light transmission. The metal solder lines possess natural, irregular textures and nodes. These structural and visual characteristics are the hallmark of authentic handmade glass art, not manufacturing defects.
